Precautions for feeding the decanter centrifuge
The
decanter centrifuge is a common equipment in the solid control system of oilfield drilling. Generally, after the decanter centrifuge is started, when the equipment is operating normally and the speed reaches the set value, the feeding system can be started to let the equipment start working.
However, before starting the feeding, it is necessary to check whether the slag outlet and the separation liquid outlet of the centrifuge are unobstructed. If the feeding is started when the outlet is blocked, the separated materials will quickly block the centrifuge's drum system, and they will produce strong friction with the high-speed drum, which will cause the centrifuge to vibrate strongly and make noise until it stops due to overload, which will cause serious solid slag blockage inside the centrifuge.
If the decanter centrifuge is often blocked, this will cause the solid slag to gradually accumulate in the gap between the centrifuge cover and the drum body, and eventually cause the drum body to be severely worn and grooved, thereby causing unsafe factors.
For the above reasons, before we start the feed pump of the decanter centrifuge, we must first start the slag discharge system and check the separation liquid outlet pipeline. Although logical protection has been adopted in the control system of our decanter centrifuge, safety failures will still occur if we do not pay attention to the inspection under special circumstances. Therefore, the relevant operators of the centrifuge should keep in mind the relevant operating guidelines and strictly implement them.
When feeding the decanter centrifuge, it is necessary to pay attention to maintaining a small flow rate of feed first, and at the same time carefully change the discharge of the separation liquid and solid slag. If it is extremely turbid, it is a precursor to blockage. It should be stopped immediately and checked. If the color of the discharged liquid is clear, it means it is normal. You can further adjust the parameters and increase the feed amount.
