What are the design parameters of the drilling fluid gun?
The drilling fluid gun is the purpose of agitating the drilling fluid by generating a high-speed flow of liquid through a nozzle. Because most systems use a low-pressure drilling fluid gun, the following points must be considered to make it work properly:
1. The size and model of the nozzle;
2. The number of elbows, tees, valves and reducers;
3. The length of the pipe;
4. Use the size of the tube.
These parameters are very important. Before choosing a pump, the degree of influence of each parameter must be determined.
In most systems, when the liquid passes through the nozzle, most of the total pressure head delivered by the pump is lost, and the length of the pipeline, the diameter of the pipe, and the fittings all require a suitable pump and engine.
In order to achieve a given flow rate after passing through the nozzle, a specific total pressure head is required to overcome the friction of the system. The longer the pipe, the greater the number of joints, and the smaller the pipe diameter, the greater the total pressure head required. The general rules are:
(1) The fluid velocity should be maintained between 50ft/s (to avoid solid precipitation) ~ 10fts (to avoid excessive erosion of the pipe) (1.5~3m/s).
(2) Pipe fittings and joints should be as few as possible
(3) The pipeline should be as short as possible.
