Tips for troubleshooting drilling fluid centrifuges

Drilling fluid centrifuge are key solid control equipment in oilfield mud treatment systems. They belong to terminal mud purification equipment and are used to remove tiny solid particles in drilling fluids.
In daily use, if the operation is not carried out as specified, or the application scenario does not meet the actual performance parameters of the drilling fluid centrifuge, it is easy to cause equipment failure.
If a drilling fluid centrifuge fails, without determining the exact cause of the failure, we can turn the drum by hand in a stationary state to determine whether there is material accumulation inside the centrifuge.
When we turn the drum by hand, if the rotation of the drilling fluid centrifuge drum is very easy, and the drum can decelerate freely until it stops, and the angle position of the stop is random, it means that there is no material accumulation inside the centrifuge.
If the drum rotates very heavily, or the drum turns back in the opposite direction after releasing the hand, and the drum stays in the same position each time it is turned, it means that there is solid slag accumulation inside the drum. If we start the drum at this time to increase the speed, serious unbalanced vibration will occur.
In this case, the correct way to deal with it is to inject water and perform spiral pushing, and then start normally after clearing the accumulated materials inside the centrifuge.
If the above conditions are excluded, after the drilling fluid centrifuge fails, if the cause of the failure is uncertain, the simplest and most direct way is to compare the components one by one with other similar equipment.
For example, speed probe, vibration probe, level probe, PLC module, inverter and connecting cable, by comparison we can quickly diagnose the fault location, and then quickly solve the centrifuge failure by replacing parts.
In addition, by calculating the various data of the centrifuge one by one, we can also quickly analyze the cause of the failure, and then check the abnormal components and detection equipment for abnormalities, so as to accurately find the fault point and quickly deal with it.
