After using the mud-gas separator, all drain valves should be opened to promptly drain the drilling fluid or clean water remaining in the separator tank and the drain and exhaust pipes, and then the inside of the mud-gas separator should be cleaned with clean water.
Check, tighten, and maintain the connecting bolts and pressure plate bolts. During winter construction, insulation and antifreeze measures should be taken for the mud-gas separator inlet pipe, drain valve, etc.
After the mud-gas separator has been used on site for one year, the well control equipment maintenance unit should inspect and repair the mud-gas separator and issue an inspection and maintenance report.
After the use of the mud-gas separator for more than three years, the liquid-gas separator should be inspected internally and externally by an organization with inspection qualifications in accordance with the requirements of the "Special Equipment Safety Technical Specifications: Safety Technical Supervision Regulations for Stationary Pressure Vessels" (TSG21-2016). If the corrosion rate of the main material of the separator is greater than 0.3mm/year, the internal and external inspection cycle should be appropriately shortened.
