What is the purpose of a mud gun?

The mud gun is a special equipment in the oil field drilling mud circulation system, mainly used to prevent mud from settling and keep the mud in a uniform suspension state. The power source of the mud gun can be a mud pump or a jet mixing device.
The mud gun produced by Xi'an HL is aimed at the drilling mud solids control system, used in the drilling mud circulation system, and used in conjunction with the mud agitator. It is specially used to deal with the dead corner of the angle between the bottom of the mud tank and the wall of the tank, and prevents the mud from settling in these areas by means of high-pressure rotary jetting. According to different pressure levels, mud guns can be divided into three types: high pressure, medium pressure and low pressure.
The high-pressure mud gun is usually supplied by a branch stream discharged from the drilling pump, and its pressure level is generally between 1 and 6 MPa. The medium and low pressure mud guns are supplied by centrifugal sand pumps, and their pressure levels are relatively low, usually in the range of 0.2 to 0.3 MPa.
By using a mud gun, the uniformity and stability of the mud can be effectively maintained, and solid particles can be prevented from settling, thereby ensuring the smooth progress of drilling operations. This is very important for mud circulation and solids control during drilling.
