Desander is a secondary solids control equipment for processing drilling fluid. According to the diameter of the cyclone, it can be divided into cyclone desander and cyclone desilter. Generally, a combination of cyclones above 6" is called desander. It is a secondary solids control equipment in drilling operations. Commonly used are 10" and 12" cyclones, which are mainly used to separate solid particles with a particle size of 47-76μm in the drilling fluid. According to the size of the processing capacity required by the customer, select several groups of cyclones to combine into a desander. Xi’an HL's cyclone desander is widely used in oil drilling and horizontal directional drilling.
Fault 1: Undercurrent is too dry
Cause: the diameter of the underflow port is too small
Remedy: Change the underflow port to a larger one.
Fault 2: Excessive liquid loss.
Cause:
A. The supply hydraulic head is too low: 1. The inlet is partially blocked; 2. There is air in the liquid supply pump; 3. The pump speed is too slow; 4. The impeller size is too small; 5. The pump discharge pipeline has throttling; 6. Pump steering Error; 7. Solid deposition in the pipeline.
B. The nozzle is too large.
C. Inner cylinder or nozzle wear: 1. Long-term work under high pressure; 2. Normal wear and tear; 3. Inlet installation error.
Solution:
A. Increase the hydraulic pressure head: 1. Install a filter screen at the inlet of the liquid supply pump; 2. Adjust and correct; 3. If the diesel engine is driven, increase the pump speed; 4. Increase the size of the impeller; 5. Check the pipeline; 6. Adjust the steering ; 7. Clean the pipeline and install a butterfly valve near the suction end.
B. Reduce the nozzle size.
C. Correction methods: 1. Reduce the pump speed or reduce the size of the impeller; 2. Reinstall the nozzle; 3. Reinstall.
Trouble three: the underflow vent is not ejected in an umbrella installation
Cause:
1. The pressure of the drilling fluid entering the cyclone is insufficient;
2. The underflow port diameter is not adjusted properly
Remedy: Check the sand pump and pipeline valve to adjust the diameter of the underflow port.
