What is a centrifugal mud pump
In petroleum solids control equipment, centrifugal mud pumps are often used. Centrifugal mud pump is an important part of solids control equipment, mainly used for oil and gas drilling. The centrifugal mud pump is used to transport mud, and can be used as the feed pump of the desander and the desilter, or the slurry pump of the jet mixing device. It can also be used as a filling pump for mud pumps of drilling rigs.
As a special type of centrifugal pumps, centrifugal slurry pumps are the power source for desander, desilter, cyclonic slurry distribution device, etc. in drilling fluid (mud) solids control equipment. In addition, it can also be used as a grouting pump for auxiliary grouting of a mud pump, a replenishment pump at the wellhead, and a pump for the conversion and delivery of drilling fluid (mud) between drilling mud tanks.
As one of the common machines in the use of solids control equipment, the sand pump adopts axial suction structure, and the flow part adopts anti-wear cast iron as the main material. It can be used to transport corrosive drilling fluid with suspended particles or other liquid medium under similar working conditions.
The installation location of the centrifugal mud pump must be close to the pumping source, which can shorten the length of the suction section and reduce the suction loss.
The centrifugal mud pump should be placed at this level and firmly secured to avoid vibration.
In order to facilitate the overhaul of the sand pump during installation, a normally open valve should be installed in the outlet pipeline. All pipelines must have their own support. The pump cannot bear the weight of the pipeline. In the case of unknown or unstable working conditions , A throttle valve must be installed in the outlet pipeline to ensure that the pump runs at the design point.
