    Selection of jet mixing device

    1. To meet the requirements of on-site slurry mixing. It is generally required that the processing capacity of the mixing funnel shall not be less than 150m3/h. For those special wells with large circulating tanks and high power of pump sets, mixing funnels with a slurry mixing capacity of 300m3/h can also be used. In order to ensure the well killing needs, it is recommended that each well team be equipped with a set of spare mixing funnels, which are connected to the system in parallel in most cases.

    Once the drilling fluid funnel is identified, the pump, motor, feed line and discharge line must be properly designed to have the proper flow rate at the recommended head. For example, assuming that it is strictly required that the displacement of the drilling fluid funnel is 2082l/min at a head of 23m, the size of the feed and discharge pipelines should be selected first according to the equipment instructions, and the flow rate at all pipelines and connections is 2082L/min The frictional head loss at 1000 rpm has to be determined, so a head of 23m should be added to the funnel; the next step is to select a pump and impeller that can provide 2082L/min at the required total head, and when the pump is selected, adapt to the density of the drilling fluid The model of the motor can be determined. If you don't know the density of the available drilling fluid, it is recommended to use 2.4g/cm3 of drilling fluid as the calculation benchmark.

    1. Minimize the resistance along the inlet and outlet pipelines, so the pipelines should be short and thick, and the elbows should be smooth. Equipping the jet funnel with a corresponding venturi can increase the processing capacity, speed up the diffusion of the solid phase and prevent caking.

    2. The height of drilling fluid lift: If the discharge is to enter a tank on a different deck or a very high tank and funnel, the mixing rate will be reduced. When the height is from 1.83-3.66m, the barite addition rate will be reduced by 17%. If the lifting requirement is high, the pump capacity is not enough, and the mixing capacity will be greatly reduced.

    3. Strengthen maintenance. In most cases, the back pressure should not be greater than 20% of the input pressure.
