Brief Description of Mud Agitator

Mud mixer is a kind of solids control equipment for drilling fluid tank, which consists of reducer and explosion-proof motor. Mainly used for stirring and mixing of drilling fluid, easy maintenance, suitable for harsh working conditions in the field. The mud agitator has high stirring intensity, wide stirring range, and reduces the starting resistance torque.



The function of drilling mud agitator

The drilling mud agitator is a mud solids control system for continuous and reliable drilling of the drilling fluid in order to maintain the uniformity of the drilling fluid and the suspended solid particles. Drill cuttings are the main component of the harmful solid phase. To remove harmful solids, they must be suspended and fed into desanders, desilters and centrifuges. Useful solid phases, such as various weighting materials (hematite powder, barite powder) and a small amount of bentonite, also need to be uniformly suspended to keep the density and other properties of the drilling fluid stable. Therefore, drilling fluid agitators are required to work reliably and continuously to avoid solid phase precipitation.

The drilling mud agitator is mainly used to stir and mix the drilling fluid to prevent the solid particles of the drilling fluid from depositing in the tank circulation system, so that the performance of the circulating drilling fluid is stable and the mixing is uniform. In order to maintain the uniformity of the drilling fluid and suspend solid particles, it is necessary to install an agitator on the circulating tank. Agitation plays an important role in accelerating the reaction, dissolution and wetting of drilling fluid materials (such as bentonite and barite) and chemical additives. Agitation increases the contact area between the phase interfaces, allowing the two phases to interact at high speed.
