What aspects should be paid attention to when installing the outlet pipeline of the sand pump

The centrifugal sand pump is a kind of centrifugal pump specially designed by our company for transporting oilfield drilling mud. The pump has many advantages such as high speed, large flow, high head, small size, light weight, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant, and is simple to operate, stable in operation, and low in maintenance costs. Now it has been used as the most common type of pump to transport mud in oilfield drilling operations.

What aspects should be paid attention to when installing the outlet pipeline of the sand pump?

A. Outlet pipeline shall be fitted with a normally open valve, which is convenient for inspection/repair.

B. Each pipeline (including inlet pipeline) must be with its own support. It is strictly forbidden to let a pump bear weight of any pipeline.

C. When operation condition is unclear or unstable, outlet pipeline must be equipped with a throttle valve, to ensure that pump operates at the design point.

D. When  centrifugal sand pump outlet is connected to pressure equipment, a check valve must be installed between the throttle valve and the pump outlet, to prevent backflow of fluid; otherwise, backflow of fluid will cause damages to the pump due to “water hammer”.
