The drilling mud cooler, also known as mud cooling device, mud cooling system, etc., is generally erected in the mud pool to cool the high-temperature mud. The basic principle of the cooling system and the fan to cool the mud is to manipulate the air and the mud indirectly, and take away the heat in the mud through evaporation, and the cooling medium is air. The mud cooling system is a special equipment used to cool the high temperature mud in the well during the drilling process. It is currently a relatively efficient and safe mud cooling method.

Mud Cooling Device Working Principle

When working, the sand pump extracts the mud from the mud tank and discharges it to the cooling tank spray system. Relying on the electric fan on the top, the cold air outside the tank is forcibly sucked into the tank through the lower part of the tank; the hot mud is evenly distributed from the upper spray system. Each nozzle sprays the hot mud down onto the filler layer through the nozzle, forming a water film on the filler, the mud and the cold air entering the tank exchange heat in the filler; the hot and humid air is discharged out of the tank by the fan, and the cooling mud enters drain from the sink.
